This is a passion project for my original story. It’s a transcription of recorded diary entries from Flynn O’Malley who survived the sinking of a cruise ship in 2003.
I removed the background of the plastic bag, removed the background and aged the recorder, designed a worn evidence label and displacement map.
I removed a couple levels from this image to help match the small holding capacity described in the story.
I took this photo at Stradbroke Island, removed the people and unwanted debris, then edited the cruise ship in the distance with a red focus box to draw attention to the sunken ship.
